About FriendBackup
FriendBackup is an application created by James Williams in response
to a Twitter outage that caused many users to lose some of their relationships.
It was launched on July 25, 2008 and has had several updates since.
Unlike some of the imitators, after download of the client, FriendBackup communicates
directly with Twitter to retrieve your data, you can't risk something that was never exposed
in the first place.
Requirements
FriendBackup can retrieve friends, followers, direct messages, and tweets. It stores them in an Excel
file for easy archival and import into database applications. Care should be taken to not max out
requests if you have alot of info to backup.
You must have Java 6 installed to run the app and preferably something
that can read Excel 97 files.
